This book is about a boy named Percy Jackson who discovers he is a demigod (the offspring of a god and a mortal), the son of Poseidon. Percy goes to Camp Half-Blood and learns all about Greek mythology. Then, Zeus's lightning bolt is stolen, and Percy is suspect number one. Zeus wants it back by the winter solstice, only about a week away! Along with his best friends Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase, he sets off on a perilous quest, encountering monsters, other demigods, and even gods! Can Percy and his friends return the lightning bolt before the winter solstice?

This book was awesome, I couldn't put it down. It also has lots of Greek stuff cleverly woven in, but for the bits about monsters and making you get really tense, I'll give it four stars. Review by: UAC
