This book is about a kittypet (domestic cat) named Rusty who wonders about the forest and the wild cats inside it. He one day goes in and meets some cats living in ThunderClan, and gives up his kittypet life to become an apprentice named Firepaw. Constantly learning the warrior code from his new clanmates, Firepaw has time for little else. However, he makes two best friends, Graypaw and Ravenpaw. Ravenpaw believes something strange happened with his mentor, Tigerclaw, and the battle over sunningrocks where the former deputy; Redtail, died. Firepaw, filled with his intense curiosity, wants to discover the truth. But stopped at every turn by Tigerclaw, constantly pestered by Sandpaw and Dustpaw, and held back by the boundaries of the warrior code, can he?

This book was good, but it was a bit frustrating, too, so I give it a three star rating. Review by: UAC
